Проанализировать данные зарубежной и отечественной периодической литературы по аспектам назначения глюкокортикостериодов (ГКС) при остром обструктивном ларингите (ООЛ) в детском возрасте.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Рассмотрено 33 зарубежных и отечественных источника по изучаемой проблеме, в том числе 15 источников за последние 5 лет.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. По данным разных авторов рассмотрены механизмы действия ГКС, проведено обоснование их терапевтической эффективности в качестве препаратов выбора при любой степени тяжести ООЛ как на догоспитальном, там и на госпитальном этапе. Выполнена сравнительная характеристика различных неингаляционных и ингаляционных ГКС (дексаметазон, преднизолон, будесонид, беклометазон, флутиказон) при интенсивной терапии ООЛ в педиатрической практике.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Целесообразно назначение ГКС при ООБ у детей. Лучшее понимание особенностей назначения ГКС у детей с ООЛ должно повысить качество неотложной помощи при данном патологическом состоянии.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Goal</title><p>Goal. To analyze the data of foreign and domestic periodical literature on the aspects of the appointment of glucocorticosteroids (GCs) in acute obstructive laryngitis (АOL) in childhood.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. 33 foreign and domestic sources on the studied problem were considered, including 15 sources over the past 5 years.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. According to different authors, the following are considered the mechanisms of action of GC drugs, this paper provides evidence of their therapeutic efficacy, justifying their use as treatment of choice in AOL of any severity grade, in the prehospital as well as hospital settings. The characteristics of a range of different GCs (dexamethasone, prednisolone, budesonide, beclometasone, fluticasone) administered through inhalation and other routes are compared in regard to their use in intensive treatment of AOL in pediatric  practice.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. It is advisable to prescribe GCs for AOL in children.
